Magtec Shortlisted for Two Awards by Sheffield Chamber of Commerce – Manufacturing Company of The Year and Scale-Up Award…
As it celebrates 30 years designing, manufacturing and delivering Electric Vehicle Drive Systems for a wide range of markets (commercial logistics, passenger transport, rail, defence and special projects), Magtec is proud to be recognised by The Sheffield Chamber of Commerce for its innovation in products aimed at delivering a cleaner, safer and more sustainable future and for its contribution to the local economy.
In 2021 Magtec relocated two small facilities into one much larger purpose-built facility. Key to its decision as to where to locate was the desire to remain in the heart of South Yorkshire, to both enable it to retain its skilled workforce and to strengthen its already local Supplier base. The move, necessary to capture the growing demand for electric vehicles, was expected to create ca 50 new high skilled jobs in the first 18 months and so far, this is being realised with > 30 new jobs already filled.
