Last week at Magtec HQ, we had the privilege of hosting an energising and thought-provoking event led by Lisa J Whitworth of Nat West / RBS, focused on advancing the role of women in manufacturing and engineering.
Yes, it was a day to celebrate—but more importantly, it was a moment to act.
Women from across the industry came together to share experiences, challenge norms, and identify real, actionable ways we can shape a more inclusive, future-ready sector. The discussion centered on three transformative areas:
- Leadership & Culture – Embedding inclusion into business foundations and empowering women to lead with confidence.
- Skills & Development – Opening doors through training, education, and access to emerging technologies.
- Mentorship & Networks – Strengthening the ties that help women grow, navigate challenges, and seize opportunity.
This wasn’t just an inspiring event—it was a clear signal that the momentum for change is building. The positive response has already led to plans for a follow-up session in July 2025, ensuring this isn’t just a conversation, but a continuous commitment.
